Welcome To APSS 2026

Dear APSS 2026 Participants

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 3rd International Congress of the African Phytomedicine Scientific Society (APSS 2026), proudly hosted by the University of Pretoria from 25-29 October 2026 at The Capital Zimbali Resort in Durban, South Africa. The theme for this year’s congress is:

“Nature’s Pharmacy: Science, Standards, and Sustainability – Integrating Global Ethnobotanical Knowledge for Modern Healthcare.”

This landmark event will serve as a dynamic platform for scientists, traditional health practitioners, indigenous knowledge holders, researchers, and industry partners to exchange knowledge and share groundbreaking research in ethnopharmacology and phytomedicine. Through in-depth discussions on new technologies and emerging research areas, the congress aims to highlight collaborative efforts between African and global experts in addressing pressing health challenges through natural product research. Our goal is to foster meaningful networking opportunities between national and international institutions, and to showcase the academic excellence of global research initiatives. The congress also aims to catalyze multidisciplinary collaborations in ethnopharmacology and expand access to critical research infrastructure that may currently be limited within African institutions.

We believe that hosting APSS 2026 in Durban, South Africa, will not only elevate the international standing of our research community, but also contribute to local economic development and promote cross-cultural exchange.

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the African Phytomedicine Scientific Society, it is our honor to invite you to join us in-person for this inspiring and impactful event. We look forward to your participation and to advancing our shared goals of innovation, sustainability, and cultural appreciation.
