Abstracts

The programme committee would like to invite you to submit an abstract/s for the 3rd International Congress. 

Please read through the following information carefully before submitting.

Guidelines for authors

  • Abstract submissions must be submitted online in order to be considered.
  • Submission title should not exceed 50 words.
  • Submission body text should not exceed 300 words and is text only.
  • Submissions are open for consideration for oral presentations, flash presentations or poster presentations.
  • Submissions that are completed for oral presentations that are not accepted as such after the review process will still be considered for poster presentation.
  • The submission deadline is 15th August 2026.
  • Authors will be notified in writing by 21st August 2026 of the outcome of their submission/s.
  • At least one author will be required to register and pay their registration fees in order to be included in the final programme.
  • Registration must be done online at Registration – APSS2026
  • Presentation format guidelines will be made available on the congress website.
  • Abstracts may be amended up to the submission deadline date once submitted.
  • Should you wish to withdraw your submission, please contact info@apss2026.org.za
  • In all correspondence, please remember to use your submission reference number.

The main theme for the congress is – Natures Pharmacy:  Science, Standards, and Sustainability – Integrating Global Ethnobotanical Knowledge for Modern Healthcare. 

Abstracts may be submitted under the following sub themes:

  • Harnessing African Medicinal Plants for Health; Wellness and Innovation; Drug Discovery from Natural Sources and Commercialization
  • Pharmaceuticals and Cosmeceuticals; Nutraceuticals from Plant Natural Sources; Quality Control, Medicinal Chemistry; Ethnobotany and Ethnopharmacology
  • Natural Product Isolation from Plants; Characterization and Identification
  • Integration and Involvement of Traditional Health Practitioners and Community Support
  • Cultivation and propagation of medicinal plants
